Stories is a plugin for WordPress that provides support for publishing multi-page stories allowing grouping stories into collections, stories with multiple chapters, and stories that have multiple parts with multiple chapters.
Version 1.0 provides shortcodes and template tags for navigation:
- Link to next chapter. An optional parameter allows moving from the last chapter of the current part to the first chapter of the next part, or looping back to the first chapter of this part or story, or presenting nothing (no more chapters). Another optional parameters allows you to specify the text to display in the link (as opposed to the title of the page).
- Link to previous chapter. Same options as above, but previous instead of next.
- Link to the parent, be it part, story, collection, of the parent page of the stories.
- Show Children. Allows the ability to display a list of links to the pages under this current page. For example, at the top level, the Stories page of the main menu, it can show all the stories and collections directly under it. With the date it was last updated! For a multi-part, multi-chapter story, the children list will show each part as a link (using the title of the page, name your pages well!) and indented under each part, the chapters within that part (as links, again). Optionally, the date last updated can be shown next to each.
